Outreach Intern

Position Description

Essential Functions

• Educate community members, volunteers, and the general public
• Assist with all areas of outreach and volunteer support
• Attend planting and outreach events
• Broaden outreach of the Tree Foundation by making community contacts
• Manage volunteer sign-in and support at events
• Develop new outreach opportunities and trainings

Attitudes, Abilities, and Skills

• Ability to work independently
• Willingness and ability to learn about, and work to educate the community regarding, the urban forest of the Sacramento Region
• Interest in community development
• Some prior knowledge of trees or horticulture beneficial but not necessary
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to engage community members at booth events
• Organized and enthusiastic about working with others
