The fire blight bacteria is affecting more trees than usual this year. The disease is highly contagious, causes branch die back, and could even be fatal for infected trees.

The most commonly affected trees are pear (ornamental and fruiting), quince, apple, and crabapple.

Learn more about fire blight and how you can treat your infected tree through the University of California Integrated Pest Management website.
